Gernot have got a lot to do in his business so he couldn´t come with me. My dear
girl-friend Julie acompanied me to this adventuretrip to England, thank you so much, Julie!
We started on Friday 24th of April and stopped in Ceske Budejovice (CZ), where a CACIB
breed show was held under judge Mrs. Margit Brenner.
Tally won the open class (out of 9 dogs) with Exc. 1, CaC and made best dog–CACIB- too! What a huge
result!
Grace went second in junior bitches with Exc. 2.
Then we drove to Calais, where we got the ferry to Dover in the early Sunday morning to finish our long lasting
tour in the Midlands in the afternoon.
We were very nicely welcomed at Alison and Bob's house to join the „Littlethorn“
gang for the next two weeks.
Time went over so fast with a lot of English humour (which I not always understood so quickly;-))) and lots of
talk about our beloved breed and our dogs.
It was also that Mica joined the gang – Littlethorn Amica for Greenborder. Alison and Bob decided to let Amica go and asked me
whether I would like to have her. She has got a nice pedigree and is a lovely
dog. She loves to play and since their first meeting, Grace and Mica are best friends. Also Daisy likes her as Mica is a good
playmate.
On 2nd of May there was a breed council day held in Moira.
What an exciting day that was!
Hearing test, blood taken for the DNA tests, eyetests, judging exams, obedience
show, good citizens test and a companion dog show were held.
Jean Entwistle „Beesting“ was judging the novelty classes and I had entered Grace for the
best Border collie, where she went third and the best mover, which she won. At least all the
winners went into the ring again for best in show and Grace won reserve best in
show!
On 4th of May the East Anglian clubshow was held under judge Jo Ratcliffe for the
dogs. Tally was entered in limit and went 4th, Grace didn´t get placed sadly.
Julie and me then left the Littlethorn House for a short trip southwestwards and we found a lovely
campsite in Brean, directly at the Brean Sands beside the sea.
We spent there four lovely days, to relax and gave the dogs plenty of time to run at the
beach.
We returned on Friday, 8th of May to the Littlethorn House again to have Grace and Tally a
bath (they were in the sea and were full of sand).
On Saturday, 9th of May, the championship show near Stafford took place. A very posh
show-ground with a lot of things to buy – our campervan is full again…
Derek Smith was judging dogs and bitches. Alison handled Tally for me and went fourth – thank you, Alison!
Grace again was not placed, what a shame!
After the Show we went home again and had a lovely last evening with the Tunnicliffs.
We left the Midlands on Sunday, 10th of May, got the ferry back to Calais and drove to Frankfurt to staying overnight with Uschi and Gypsy.
It was nice to meet them again, Gypsy matures into a lovely young male, who is so correct and really
is a workoholic!
After a nice walk in the forrest with all the dogs we had to leave and drove the last 800 km home.
We arrived at 11pm on Monday without any problems.
Mica now spends her first hours in her new home and I think, she likes it.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to Alison and Bob for their warm and friendly hospitality, their
friendship and their knowledge they share with us.
It was very special to spend those two weeks with you and it was not easy when I left.
Thank you also for your trust in us to giving us Amica, which is such a sweetheart.
It was another lovely holidays in this very special country, where we met many people again and met some new ones. It was very nice to see you all and
I do hope to coming over soon.
Lisi
